Badshah: Elevating Indian Cuisine from Hell’s Kitchen
Badshah is a Hell’s Kitchen based eatery located on 788 9th Ave. Named after the Hindi term for “King of the Village,” Badshah features inventive dishes inspired by Indian street food and signature classics updated in creative ways. Chef/owner Abishek Sharma has created the next generation of Indian cuisine while he continues to build his budding empire of Indian restaurants. Badshah has beautiful indoor seating (for up to 50 guests) with beautiful artwork literally painted on the walls. Outdoor seating is also available and trust me, this place is worth bringing your entire family and grabbing as many seats as you can.
As for me and my date’s night, we started off with drinks and I had the I Am Badshsh (Bulleit bourbon, cardamom syrup, and angostura bitters). Essentially the establishment’s take on an Old Fashioned, the drink had a welcoming sweet spice to it that I don’t normally find in Old Fashioneds or any bourbon based drinks for that matter; it was quite enjoyable. My guest enjoyed a Sassi Lassi (Bacardi rum and Mango Lassi) that was quite pleasant from the sip that I had.
