Jazz/Soul/ Hip Hop collective The Rakiem Walker Project fuses modern and classic hip-hop with a soulful modern-day twist.

Frontman Rakiem Walker is an accomplished saxophone player and music director born in Brooklyn and raised in Harlem and the Bronx. The soulful and skilled music of Rakiem Walker has garnered attention and has toured the world playing for top artists including R&B group Soul 4 Real (Uptown Records) and has also recorded with legendary hip-hop rapper and producer the RZA as a saxophonist for several Wu-Tang Clan recordings including albums ‘Only Built 4 Cuban Linx’ (Raekwon) and ‘Tical 2000’ (Method Man).

Each Friday this Summer, The Rakiem Walker Project with be performing at Manhattan hotspot Somewhere Nowhere. The new Friday night programming will combine different genres of hip hop from Jazz, R&B, Old School to Drill music, with instruments and special appearances. The Rakiem Walker project has also performed at Southern restaurant and Harlem institution Melba and are gearing up for a performance at Red Rooster as well.
