Extra Virgin: A West Village Hallmark
Extra Virgin has been a West Village staple for a long time, with 16 years on 259 West 4th Street. Extra Virgin was opened quite serendipitously, as owners Michele Gaton and Executive Chef Joey Fortunato only had one day to seal the deal after finding a location they loved. Serving what they call — imaginative Mediterranean, the quintessential neighborhood eatery has been able to remain open throughout the entirety of the pandemic, feeding the local frontline workers and pioneering the reopening phase of the West Village restaurants. Gaton and Chef Fortunato have learned the ins and outs of how to run a business during one of the toughest times in recent memory. Outdoor seating is available and clear glass partitions between the tables are prepared to ensure the safety of diners.
Extra Virgin’s Amazing Menu
Chef Fortunato, who has worked with famed restaurateur Drew Nieporent at Tribeca Grill and Layla, helped craft Extra Virgin’s all-day menu; served every day starting at 11 am, except on Sundays, when it starts at 10 am.
