Introducing Dr. Miami Beach
Tarik M. Husain MD, FACS
Florida’s Top Doctor winner, Dr. Tarik Husain, is up there with America’s top plastic surgeons which explains his nickname, “Dr. Miami Beach”. We delve deeper into Husain’s story to find out the varied steps he took along the way to reaching this impressive status.
Husain’s academic journey began with a scholarship in biomedical engineering, before completing his medical training at the University of Southern California (USC). With an impressive academic record and obvious potential, Husain had offers from several prestigious companies when he graduated. He declined, his passion for medicine making the decision for him.
Husain looks back, recalling, “When I was 21, I was offered a six-figure salary from Andersen Consulting, Ernst & Young, and Microsoft. All of these companies told me they would pay for my Master’s in Business at Harvard, Stanford, or any other prestigious school.” Luckily for the great number of people whose lives have been improved by Husain’s work, he didn’t take any of them up and continued with his medical studies. He goes on to say, “I had a moment of hesitation, but I wanted to have an effect on a person’s life to make him/her happier.”
