Once-In-A-Lifetime Valentine

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day! There was SO much love around the city as everyone was galavanting around with their special someone. I was no exception to this as I was quite looking forward to spending the day with my girlfriend, award-winning poet Carly Joy Miller.

We started our day by checking into The Dream Hotel. Although there IS a Dream Hotel Downtown, we checked into the Midtown located, which better suited our needs for the day. We had a Silver King room, which had a wonderful king-sized bed draped with beautiful floral wallpaper overhead. We really didn’t have any time to enjoy the hotel room (yet) as I had a meeting with ALTR Diamonds CEO Amish Shah.

Amish and I talked about his family’s history in the diamond industry and got into extreme detail about his lab-created diamonds, which are just as beautiful — if not more — than ones that are naturally created (profile coming soon). At the end of our conversation, Amish surprised me with a diamond necklace, which I bestowed upon bae.

Later on, we had a romantic dinner at Sushi Lab. They offered great deals such as the Omasake, where the chef picks 15 pieces or the Lab Experiment, which is 16 signature choices but I opted for half a tuna roll and half a salmon roll. I washed it all down with a strawberry cocktail made with fresh fruit and Japanese liquor.

After dinner, we walked over to the Majestic Theatre to catch the 8:15 pm showing of The Phantom of the Opera, which starred the amazing Ben Crawford as The Phantom and Meghan Pierce as Christine Daae. It was such a perfect end to an amazing day and all the while, falling more in love with a wonderful woman.
