Tasca: Spanish and Caribbean Fusion on the Upper West Side

Tasca is a newly opened restaurant on the Upper West Side offering a fusion of Spanish & Caribbean cuisine. On top of amazing food, the beverage program features carefully curated rum cocktails made from a list of over 100 varieties of premium rums, as well as an extensive wine list of over 180 wine selections, which are temperature-controlled and 80% Spanish, and a changing roster of beers on tap and bottle/can selections from Spain and the US. Located on 505 Columbus Ave, Tasca is a beautifully decorated eatery with a Latin flare that even a rainy day couldn’t dim.

My girlfriend was my guest per usual, and we were promptly greeted by staff as we made our way to our table. We ordered drinks: I enjoyed a light, flowery drink aptly called the Isle of Flowers (vodka, Curacao hibiscus flowers and Spanish white vermouth in a subtly sweet cooler). Even though it was raining, the weather was still pretty humid, and this drink was extremely refreshing and the floral note was not as pronounced as the ingredients might have you believe.
